I don't think any of that clone stuff is relevant with a Hisaya Naoki original project. P.A. Works isn't limited to slice-of-life by any means, and Hisaya's writing is always complex and dark.

For any other anime, have at it. But if you've watched a Sakura Taisen series, you'll know that it was actually very female-positive in its original "many girls, one guy" incarnation. Mainly because the one guy was not the main character and the many girls had other stuff to do besides fawn over him. Unless this series behaves the same way, it pretty much auto-fails to Sakura Taisen TV and the first two OVAs.

TOWANAI (unofficial abbrev. from fans since most don't like the official abbrev. which is "HENTAI") has a pretty high ranking in "This Light Novel Is Amazing 2012" (rank 17 out of 60)), which is rather uncommon for love comedy series. There are only a few series that are higher (like Haganai and Oreimo which contain other themes as well). Even super sellers like IS were 40+. What I read from 2ch last time was that it got a pretty good protagonist, while some said it was due to the art.

It's... entertaining? With funny and likeable characters on wacky puzzle adventures? Plus it's tied with some other NHKe puzzle shows (Puzzle no oujisama and probably something else, too). Obviously it's a kids' show (...I think. I'm not really sure anymore), but the first season had top-notch writing, direction, voice work and music, and while the second season was a more rocky ride for various reasons, it was still very entertaining. I'm looking forward to season 3, too. :3

Btw, NHK doesn't really depend on ratings or even sales. If they feel a show is accomplishing whatever they want from it they'll order another season, simple as that.

They're Japan's national public broadcaster, so they probably have as part of their mandate to ensure certain types of programming are on the air. If they can pitch this show as educational or filling some gap/need, then they can probably justify funding it (since they're funded directly by the people already).

It sounds pretty awesome, but it's the kind of project no producer would pick up... :/ But apparently they really want to make it. If I can set aside some money this month I probably will send it their way.

Anyway, it's a good way to experiment and test the waters so to speak. There must be many projects that never get realized due to lack of funds, it'd be nice to see a happy end for once.

Not necessarily for Rin-ne, from what I am seeing sale have been sliding for the compilations, so if it does get an anime is to see if they can improve those sales, it has helped series sales of less know authors like Magi and Nura, but Takahashi is very well know so who knows if an anime would really boost sales for her latest title.

I forgot about buyuden. When the anime for magi was leaked on shokakugans site buyuden was with it and conan. So thats a highly likely possibility. As for the number they might be including their other anime projects (magi,hayate and ZKC) but i guess we'll see either way in the coming weeks.

For example, Chiwa Saito for the screenplay? I didn't know she could write scripts. She probably doesn't. And it used an older song by ClariS as the OP.

Yeah, what it says is that they'd love to make a second season but it'd be difficult unless they increase their sales, and that the contrast between their sales and SAO is extreme. (But this has been the case for a while now; the top-sellers are typically way above the median.) So at this point, there's no announcement of a second season, and the suggestion that it may not happen based on current sales. Of course, this too is a sort of marketing strategy -- maybe they hope to convince a few more people on the fence... Conventional wisdom would put the sales in the "just above average, but not quite high enough for a likely sequel" range, so this makes sense.

2013's seventh issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing next month that Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga is being adapted into a television anime. Arakawa launched this manga about a boy's life in an agricultural school last year, after finishing Fullmetal Alchemist the year before.

In its report on this year's Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) winner, Media Factory's Da Vinci magazine had said that the manga "seems to have anime adaptation plans" like several previous winners have had. Da Vinci noted that all of the previous winners — 2008's Gaku - Minna no Yama, 2009's Chihayafuru, 2010's Thermae Romae, and 2011's March comes in like a lion — all received major boosts after their wins.

Japanese publisher Media Factory has announced that Reiji Kaito’s “symphonic school battle action” light novel series Machine Doll wa Kizu Tsukanai (Unbreakable Machine-Doll) will be getting a TV anime series. The ongoing light novel series launched in 2009 and presently has nine volumes. The story revolves around a Japanese exchange student attending a prestigious British school for students that construct humanoid battle robots.

Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) CEO Sohei Niikawa told the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper's Mantan Web site that his company is still working hard towards a potential anime adaptation of its new Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox (God and the Destiny Revolution Paradox) role-playing game. Niikawa had said when his company unveiled the game project last year, "It isn't decided yet, but a television anime project is already advancing. We want to realize that somehow."

As the first title marking the 20th anniversary of NIS, the game features creative team behind the Disgaea RPG series, Haruhi Suzumiya illustrator Noizi Ito, and musical composer Yousei Teikoku (The Future Diary, Katanagatari theme songs).

The game shipped for the PlayStation 3 on Thursday.

Actually, it's just a studio CM, it looks like, rather than being an advertisement for anything.
I mean, it's going to be an actual show (done by their sister studio, Animation Do) from what I can remember, but it's not like they're announcing a new work just yet.
