The latest issue of the shounen manga magazine Magazine Special (http://comipedia.com/magazine/magazine-special) mentions the anime announcement of Suteki Tantei Labyrinth :)

Ugg... thats Magazine Special (http://comipedia.com/magazine/magazine-special) and not Weekly Shounen Magazine >.>

Magazine Special is also a shounen magazine and its the sibling magazine of Weekly Shounen Magazine. Pastel and Open Sesame are some of the manga running in Magazine Special.

Suteki Tantei☆Labyrinth 素敵探偵☆ラビリンス (yes with a star :P) is the title of the manga, and its running in Magazine Special (http://www.shonenmagazine.com/php/magazine.php?sbt=2) (not Weekly Shounen Magazine).

Anyway, I corrected the previous two posts about the serialization of the manga. Thanks to someone's PM about this ;)

First Season: 09.10.2003 till 19.02.2004

Manga: still ongoing i think (not sure) and its licensed

Airing date: not mentioned yet

Not sure if this is really true but as its listed on Moonphase's list it most probably is. there is no more info on this than the name and a link to the official page, on whcih there is no info on a new season yet.

If this is true i will jump in the air all day. Gunslinger girl is one of my favourite animes and comparing the anime with the manga the anime was even much better in many scenes and aspects, which is a rare thing.

ANN

Two Walnuts [Futatsu no Kurumi]
Shin-Ei to Air Time-Traveling War Fable of Two Walnuts
Shin-Ei Animation (Doraemon, Fuku-chan) has launched (http://www.shin-ei-animation.jp/sensoudouwa/) the website for Futatsu no Kurumi (Two Walnuts), its sixth "sensō dōwa" (wartime fable) which airs this August on Japan's Asahi network. Ayaka Nakanishi "time-slips" from 2007 to March 7, 1945 — three days before World War II's first major firebombing of Tokyo. She crosses paths with Yuko, a girl growing up in wartime Japan. Writer and executive director Tetsuo Yasumi (Bono Bono) works with character designer Junichi Seki (A Dog of Flanders: My Patrasche, Adventures of Tom Sawyer) on this production.

Amazing Detective Labrynth [Suteki Tantei Labrynth]
The August 5 issue (on sale July 20) of Kodansha's Magazine Special announced the anime version of Meito Manjō and Seiji Wakayama's Suteki Tantei Labyrinth (Amazing Detective Labyrinth) mystery manga. The television series, which will start this fall in Japan, tells the adventures of the boy detective Mayuki as he solves crimes in Old Tokyo. Director Hiroshi Watanabe (Matantei Loki Ragnarok, Hell Girl) and series script editor Natsuko Takahashi (Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist) oversee Studio DEEN's animation of characters designed by Yukiko Akiyama (Black Cat, Maria-sama ga Miteru's animation director).

I'd just like to ask: What's is the point in reposting information that has already been mentioned in this thread? ANN and similar professional websites are not superior in finding Japanese anime announcements, they just get paid to do it.
Use the search button, find out if the information you find interesting has already been posted, and if it hasn't been, knock yourself out and post it.

Two commercials for the game Myself; Yourself

Commercial 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzlQgAm19LA)

Commercial 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJeACUc2oRo)

The above commercials are for the game and NOT the anime.

If an anime is based on a game, and the game has commercials available then posting these in this thread is allright.

If the opening song for the game is available on Youtube, I don't think there's a problem in posting a link to it here too (of course only post opening songs for the games that are getting animated >.> don't start posting links to game openings that haven't been announced to be animated).

Any un-related Youtube links will most likely be deleted >.<

Another 'Mai-Otome'? I guess they don't want to let it die provided this IS another installment.

But saw the clip for 'Dragonaunt'. Actually, just came across it today in the latest issue of 'Newtype USA'. Right away I knew it was 'Uno Makoto'. To be honest this is the first time I've seen style just being "plain". Even though he's worked on other stuff, this seems to stand out more as his own. Considering his designs were strong in the 'Witchblade' series. Be curious to see what this is about. I can read about in in the issue.

But I'm always up for some more 'Gunslinger Girl'. :)

MOON PHASE’s Diary has issued (http://d.hatena.ne.jp/moonphase/20070726) a few anime related rumors today. One of the more credible ones is an announcement of a ToLOVE-Ru (ToLOVEる) TV anime series based on a manga from Weekly Shounen Jump. MOON PHASE already slates its broadcast for April 2008.

The love comedy with an abundance of pervy scenes talks about a relationship between an alien princess named LaLa and a highschool student Yuuki Rito. The manga has produced four volumes so far.

The other MOON PHASE rumor: Kyoto Animation may divide the upcoming CLANNAD series into two parts. The first part will apparently air this Fall, while the later part will start next spring after the Winter season that will be occupied by the second anime season of Suzumiya Haruhi. Skimming through that site, it seems that this is not a normal RPG game. It is what the creators call a "Table Talk RPG". Well I think it's what the Japanese call Tabletop RPGs.

So it's not a PC game and it's not even a card game. There's some kind of rule book which you have to read, and you gather some friends and engage in some kind of scenario-creating conversation. So basically, you just talk and create a "game scenario, characters and decisions" based on the rules. It's like creating the script for an RPG.

Don't ask me how and why they thought of such a thing though. I just don't get tabletop rpgs anyway. But I don't mind taking a look at the rule books though... they seem interesting.

Sounds like the "storyteller" style RPGs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storytelling_game) that White Wolf and other pen & paper game companies publish. It's more collaborative between all the players so it *should* make for a more fun & involving experience.

It depends on the type of game you play, though--some, like the arch-famous Dungeons & Dragons, are more geared towards fighting and stuff (and as such they are heavier on the rules side), and some are more oriented towards character development and roleplay. But it always boils down to a couple of friends playing a piece of theater, or so to speak. Notice that it's two meanings of "play" (to play a game, and to play a character) mixed in one single action. I know it may be hard to understand, and probably awkward to get into, but once you find players that suit you (one with which you share some kind of "empathy"), you'll love it.

I'm not sure if you heard this before but Trigun is getting a movie!!!! XD Probably gonna get released late 2008 or 2009...not sure. wink.gif

The October 2005 issue of Neo magazine (A UK Anime magazine) includes an interview with Madhouse's founder and series planner, Masao Maruyama. In it, he says the studio is working on a Trigun Movie that should be released in a "couple of years". The November issue of Anime Insider also confirms this news.

In May 2007 Nightow confirmed at the Anime Central Convention that the Trigun movie was in the early stages of preproduction with the script near completion, though he did not divulge any plot information.

Don't forget Eve.

Oh and as for this Night Wizard thing, I have this idea that it might be about friends gathering around to play the tabletop and getting pulled into it, and that it's main appeal will be the supposed 72 Lords of Darkness or whatever and their Loliriffic Moeness (potentially). It probably also won't hasten to promote the board game product in any way possible.

Oh and there's also a PC Game for Night Wizard as well. There's a Getchu link, but it contains some explicit content so I won't post it. It is an Eroge after all.

MOON PHASE now lists Noramimi as an upcoming anime. No other information has been released. According to MangaScreener.com:
Noramimi is a delightful manga that people of all age can enjoy, about a world in which every family has a special “character” who lives with them and helps their children develop into healthy adults, based around the concept of Doraemon. It’s a truly heartwarming manga (a friend of mine said that anyone who doesn’t love it “has no heart”) and a joy to read. Serialized in Ikki since 2003, it has 4 volumes at present.

It was just listed on MOON PHASE's anime list with no other mention whatsoever, but I suspect this to be an import of some sorts, not an actual Japanese production (like Sponge Bob or something). That's why I didn't want to mention it myself. That "Genee" can be read as "Jenny" as well.

Funny you should mention that - I just came across this (http://d.hatena.ne.jp/moonphase/20070811#p3) announcement on Moon Phase announcing a TV special for Ah! My Goddess, called Tatakau Tsubasa (Fighting Wings; incidentally, the same name as a 1998 AMG quiz game for Dreamcast).

The special is being made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series, whose manga started in August 1988, and it sounds like they're trying to get Hiroaki Gouda (who directed the original OVA) to direct this special.

No word yet on when it'll air though :)

Macross Frontier

courtesy of ANN

At the Macross 25th Anniversary Live: Minmay meets Fire Bomber concert in Tokyo Saturday night, co-creator Shoji Kawamori (Escaflowne, Aquarion) and voice actor Sho Hayami (Max of the first Macross series) announced that Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Macross Plus) will co-compose the music for the new Macross television series and that the heroine Ranka Lee will be played by Megumi Nakajima, an 18-year-old newcomer selected by a nationwide singing and acting audition in Japan. Kawamori and Hayami also introduced a pilot film of the new Macross work, now tentatively titled Macross Frontier. The story in production takes place in "20XX A.D." on a galactic colonization fleet named Macross Frontier. Since music for the new Macross series is still being composed, Nakajima sang Kanno's "Voices" from Macross Plus in the concert. Mari Iijima (Lynn Minmay), Yoshiki Fukuyama (Macross 7's Basara's singing voice), Chie Kajiura (Macros 7's Mylene's singing voice), and Nobutoshi Hayashi (Basara's speaking voice) performed first solo and then together for the final songs. More details will be posted in the upcoming event report.

Not until after the final novel comes out, which is at end of this year

besides, KyoAni has other anime to worry about atm, such as Clannad and Haruhi Second Season

If they really make Clannad true to its game, Haruhi and FMP fans will probably cry :3

Tanaka Rie, Seiyuu Queen of Female Villain Roles (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1300540&postcount=19)

Tanaka Rie as Suigintou in Rozen Maiden. Best voiced female villain, period. I hope she won't waste her immense talent much with roles like Lacus in the future.

Perhaps best known for playing cute, sweet, gentle heroines like Chii (Chi) in Chobits, Lacus Clyne in Gundam Seed, Kujou Hikari (Shiny Luminous) in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart and Maria in Hayate no Gotoku! [Hayate the Combat Butler], Suigintou is one in Tanaka Rie's evergrowing line of antagonistic, evil, and villainous roles - Morganna Mode Gone in .hack//SIGN, Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome, Nomura (Takagi) in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, Yamanobe Sayara in Mnemosyne -Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi-, Helga Neumann in Phantasy Star Portable (PSP multiplayer RPG), etc. - securing her position as a first choice among voice actresses to portray sinister, crazy, maniacal, psychopathic, sadistic evil villains.

In episode 35 of the Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler) anime (2007-2008?), Maria briefly dons a Suigintou custume. This parodies Tanaka Rie's role as Suigintou and her penchant for cosplay (costume play). She has cosplayed or dressed up as Suigintou, one of her favorite characters, on more than one occassion.

This is in itself nothing too unusual, as a number of Hayate seiyuu have had their roles in other anime parodied in the Hayate anime.

But there is much, much more...

For the week of Monday, December 10, 2007 - Sunday, December 16, 2007, in the 156th chapter of the Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler) manga by Hata Kenjirou serialized in Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine published by Shougakukan, after getting poked in the face in bed by Nagi who is suffering from muscle pain, Maria says, "Junk ni shimasu yo" (I'll turn you into junk!") (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://ex21.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/wcomic/1195094944/562-563).

This is Maria's version of Suigintou's famous phrase in the Rozen Maiden anime series, "Junk ni shite ageru(wa)!!" ("I'll turn you into junk!!"). Hata Kenjirou is paying tribute to Suigintou voice actress Tanaka Rie, who also voices Maria in the Hayate no Gotoku! anime.

The Rozen Maiden anime is a topic (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime3.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/anime2/1196231773/367-) in the highly popular, long-running manga by Akimoto Osamu, Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo (aka Kochikame), serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine published by Shuueisha, the week of December 3, 2007 - December 9, 2007. Kochikame protagonist Ryoutsu Kankichi, aka "Ryou-san," attends a quiz show. A question at the quiz show asks who is the first doll in Rozen Maiden? The answer: Suigintou.

Many Japanese and foreign fans note that Nomura/Takagi, the mysterious, evil woman with long, silver hair who first appears in episode 17 of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai anime (2007), bears an unmistakable resemblance to Suigintou ("Ginsama") from the Rozen Maiden anime series, both in appearance and in voice. The Japanese voice actor (seiyuu) for Suigintou, Tanaka Rie, also voices Nomura/Takagi. According to a number of Japanese fans, the Higurashi staff modeled Nomura/Takagi after Suigintou and specifically cast Tanaka Rie to play her, as an homage to Suigintou (and her voice actress).

The Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i Vol. 3 Internet Radio CD (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=LHCA-5083), starring Tanaka Rie as Suigintou, went on sale in Japan on Wednesday, December 5, 2007.

The January 2008 issue of Animage magazine (http://www.tokuma.co.jp/animage/am/am_new.html) published by Tokuma Shoten, which went on sale Monday, December 10, 2007 in Japan, includes as an extra gift an Animage original edition of "Gin-sama Chronicle 'Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i'" Internet radio CD. Among other things, Animage is apparently banking on Suigintou's popularity to help sell more copies of the magazine.

Use this link (http://www.tokuma.co.jp/animage/am/am_200801.html) to the page on the Animage official website for the January 2008 issue of Animage when the February 2008 of Animage comes out in January 2008.

(Incidentally, the Animage original edition of Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i Internet radio CD hints (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime3.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/comicnews/1192423563/203) at a possible third season of the Rozen Maiden anime in the works. Some Japanese fans speculate that the third season will start no earlier than Fall 2008, because the director of the Rozen Maiden anime series, Matsuo Kou, will be busy with the Kure-nai anime in early 2008.)

In the official TBS Rozen Maiden Traumend character popularity poll (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=474812&postcount=503) back in February 2006, Suigintou finished in second place, behind Suiseiseki who finished in first place. Souseiseki finished in third place, followed by Shinku in fourth place.

Since Rozen Maiden Ouverture (December 2006) and Sugintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i (January 2007-), however, Suigintou, also known as Gin-sama, has surged in popularity.

According to a post (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime3.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/anime2/1196231773/825) on the 764th Rozen Maiden Synthesis anime thread at 2ch, an original investigation conducted by the drama CD production company (Mellow Head?) finds that, in terms of Rozen Maiden character popularity, Suigintou is now No. 1, followed by Suiseiseki at No. 2.

The Alice Election Revenge Poll, which ends New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31, 2007, 11:59:59PM Japan Time, supports the findings of the Rozen Maiden drama CD company.

Japanese fans (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime3.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/anime2/1196231773/903-906) have likened Suigintou to male anime villain icons - Char Aznable in Kidou Senshi Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam), Freeza (Frieza) in Dragon Ball Z, Dio Brando in Jojo no Kimyouna Bouken (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure), and Raou (Raoh) in Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) - to explain her surging popularity, continuing marketability, ongoing tribute from Japanese fans and Japanese creative people in the anime and manga industries alike, and seemingly inevitable enshrinement as an anime villain icon, perhaps the first for a female character.

Because of the dearth of truly memorable, enduringly popular female villains, Japanese fans regularly compare female villains voiced by Tanaka Rie - such as Suigintou and Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome - to male villains. And not only to male villains from anime.

After "Tanaka Rie's extraordinary acting performance" ("Tanaka Rie-san no kaien" -- Obara Masakazu, My-Otome director) as Tomoe Marguerite [and Fiar Grosse] in episode 22 of My-Otome/Mai-Otome which head writer Yoshino Hiroyuki commented, "I take my hat off to" ("Datsubou desu"), and left director Obara Masakazu in awe (see page 115 of the My-Otome Anime Perfect Guide, published by Akita Shoten, ISBN: 425313016X (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=425313016X)), some Japanese fans at 2ch likened Tomoe Marguerite to the English theatrical villain Richard III, the titular character in William Shakespeare's play Richard III.

An early 2006 entry on an English language anime blog, whose URL I can no longer find on Google, described Tomoe Marguerite as a theatrical villain.

Rozen Maiden director Matsuo Kou's initial image for Suigintou in the Rozen Maiden anime differed from the original image of Suigintou in the Rozen Maiden manga by PEACH-PIT. When auditioning for the role of Suigintou, Tanaka Rie dressed up all in black. (Going by her pictures on the Internet, Rie apparently likes to wear black clothes.) Although her image of Suigintou differed from his image of Suigintou at first (http://www.allnightnippon.com/at/index.cgi?line=76), Matsuo Kou decided right then and there that Tanaka Rie is Suigintou (http://www.allnightnippon.com/at/index.cgi?line=75). There were to be no rival candidate for the role.

Suigintou seems to have captured the imagination of not only Japanese fans of anime, but also of Japanese creative artists and producers of anime and manga, like no other female villain in anime has done before.

And a major reason for this is Tanaka Rie. The anime version of Suigintou is largely Tanaka Rie's interpretation of her, if Matsuo Kou is to be believed on why he cast Tanaka Rie as the black winged doll of darkness.

Or as a Japanese observer in this post (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime3.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/anime2/1197313526/65) on the 765th Rozen Maiden Synthesis anime thread at 2ch puts it, Suigintou "brainwashes" anime/manga creative artists and staffs into paying tribute to her the way Pink Religious Sect Founder (Pinku no Kyousosama) Lacus Clyne, another Tanaka Rie character, "brainwashes" Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, and people all over the CE Universe to do her bidding in Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED DESTINY. Still another Tanaka Rie character, Kujou Hikari (Shiny Luminous) in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, "brainwashes" Tako Cafe owner Fujita Akane into believing they are cousins.

Ever since the debut of Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED several years ago, Japanese posters at 2ch like to point out the "brainwashing" power of characters voiced by Tanaka Rie.

From late 2002 to early 2007, Lacus Clyne seemingly had also "brainwashed" tens of thousands of Japanese readers of Newtype Japan, Animage, and Animedia (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=952922&highlight=Lacus) into voting for her as the most popular female anime character (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=938093&postcount=177), dominating annual popularity polls in those magazines like no other female character has done in history.

Tanaka Rie characters do seem to have a way with "brainwashing" Japanese fans into voting them No. 1 in character popularity polls, such as Futami Eriko in the KimiKiss game (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=32720) and Kirijou Mitsuru in the Persona 3 game (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1141355&postcount=71).

Last edited by Siegel Clyne : 2007-12-18 at 20:40 [19:40 PST]. Reason: Added links for Lacus Clyne's domination of Newtype Japan, Animage, and Animedia popularity polls from late 2002 to early 2007. Added another link for Matsuo Kou on Tanaka Rie as Suigintou.

There are also BL novels (light novels) based on the manga, one is titled: Junai Romantica (純愛ロマンチカ) with 5 volumes released, and the other one is titled: Junai Egotist (純愛エゴイスト) with 2 volumes released. Both of these BL novels are published under the Ruby Bunko (http://www.comipedia.com/light-novel-label/ruby-bunko) label; a label of BL novels for females.

Info from BLU Manga (http://www.blumanga.com/) site:

Misaki is suddenly having some unexpected and odd problems. What started as a need for some college entrance exam tutoring has somehow led him to being romanced by a suave older man who also happens to be his big brother’s best friend. Confused by all of his brand new emotions, Misaki struggles to deal with his suddenly very odd life. And if that wasn’t enough, his suitor, Usami, has plenty of issues of his own. A man-child who decorates his room in giant teddy bears and toys, Usami is a famous novelist who also writes steamy boys’ love novels on the side. When Misaki cracks open one of these books and reads sentences like “Misaki licks every inch of Usami’s hot body”…well, let’s just say that all hell breaks loose. And if one couple isn’t enough for you, Junjo Romantica focuses on three different sets of lovers, each with their own compelling stories.

Genre: Shoujo/Josei

==========

The source news site is not working for me >.< but this seems to be a regular BL anime adaptation. wow, what was the last time a BL manga got a regular anime adaptation?

I put the target readership of the manga as shoujo/josei, though BL manga magazines are targeted at the josei readership.

The manga is licensed by Tokyopop and published under the BLU Manga imprint, an imprint for publishing BL manga.

Picky picky! But the TV anime took the same 'route' that the manga did too, didn't it? (I'm not a fan; I gave up on the anime after only a few episodes, so I could be way off.)

If we're going to be super-picky though, a fair few yaoi OVAs aren't necessarily 18+ anyway ;) Like, say, Angel's Feather, which was fairly recent and also completely softcore.

The project will be the latest kaitō (thief) magical girl series after Kaitō Saint Tail and Kamikaze Kaitō Jeanne. Daito Giken produced another pachisuro anime named Yoshimune last year. Source: Moon Phase

This just sounds crazy enough to work, and I mean it's like got Nanoha and other Popular Moe Seiyuu Mamiko Noto in it as angel characters. Plus it's bloody pachinko, which to my knowledge has never been the focal point of an anime. And people still say there's no original ideas left in anime (they just don't have the think way outside the box ideas like me and the guy who came up with this one have).

Junjou Romantica...?! Anime..?! I never would have expected this in a million years...

I don't remember the manga well, but I remember it being very funny and very perverted. Far more suitable for an 18+ OVA than a TV series, so a TV series just wouldn't seem right...! I wonder how they'd make it work? And of all the BL out there, I wonder how this got to be animated? :heh:

In any case, as long as it's funny, I'll watch it...! (though I'm starting to question my standards, since I thought Gakuen Heaven was the best BL anime I've ever seen... :uhoh: )

But if they were to make a second season, it will be most likely 12-13 episodes long.....hmmm I know what happens after the first season.... Naru's dead twin brother, Gene (aka Eugene) who resides in Mai's dreams.:eyespin:

Can't wait to see if it will be closer to the original art (please!) or more like this year's style

But will they still love 'Nekomusume'? Since they've done a lot to liven up her looks. She's cute. But her old designs will scare the piss out ya. Hahahaha!!

I can't believe they're doing another remake. They just did one, and is it still airing? How much more will it be like the comic? How about getting it right the first time.

To be honest I always wanted to see this series when it aired in the 80's but never got the chance. I mean, it's a boy with an eyeball in his head. And he's got "youkai" for friends. Not saying he's any more normal himself.

And on the new 'Otome -Zwei' project...I guess that's more money to plop down. Hell, I haven't even picked up 'HiME' yet. Well, I'm looking foreward to the new series. I guess there's more to tell. As long as it good. The OVAs were a little bit of a mess to some but hey not all OVAs can be winners. Since this story will concentrate on 'Rena', I'm curious to see which otome's will be used in this installment. Will 'Sara Gallagher' be in in her earliest attire? Whatever the case I hope 'Sunrise' will fill in the blanks and leave us satisfied.

Y'know what this means?

More "fanart", the fun never ends.

"C'mon 'Sunrise' you're fans need to come up with more perverted ideas for the series!" :naughty:

More promotional videos from Comic Market 72

I tried watching a few of these, but they've all been removed from YouTube for copyright reasons.

I'm a bit puzzled why you'd want to limit access to a promotional video since the purpose of these is to expand the potential audience for the series. I know that the Japanese composers guild requested a bunch of take-downs; perhaps the removal of these videos is some type of "collateral damage?"

I'm a bit puzzled why you'd want to limit access to a promotional video since the purpose of these is to expand the potential audience for the series. It's pretty simple - Japanese are very anal about copyright infringement and exclusivity, especially the latter. That trailer was meant to be viewed only on Comike, same goes for all other trailers that end up on YouTube. All of them have specific, approved distribution channels even though they're just trailers. But this is a discussion for a different time and a different thread.

Isn't Ichigeki Sacchuu!! Hoi Hoi-san based on a PS2 game? The game came out in 2003, the manga in 2004.

From what I could gather, the manga started serialization in the seinen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh in 2001 before the game came out, but the manga was released in tankoubon form in 2004.

The manga came before the PS2 game.

Edit:

No, no, according to other sources the manga started serialization in 2001 >.< not in 2003.

At first glance I thought that said "renal," as in a game where girls travel though the kidneys and other parts of the endocrine system. Rather like the old "Fantastic Voyage" movie.

I posted this earlier today on the Anime News Network Talkback Forum (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=472774):

Volume 1 (on sale September 19) of MediaWorks' new Dengeki Black Maoh manga magazine will announce that Kunihiko Tanaka's Ichigeki Sacchu!! HoiHoi-san manga about a cute, robotic bug exterminator will be animated for television.

This appears to be bogus information (gaseneta) from Moon Phase.

Fans in Japan who already have Vol. 1 of the Dengeki Black Maoh magazine are reporting on a number of different threads at 2ch that there is no word in it on any new animation for Ichigeki Sacchuu!! HoiHoi-san.

Please check up on it.

Moon Phase (http://d.hatena.ne.jp/moonphase/20070914) has since struck out and confirmed that it was indeed bogus information (gaseneta).

The 2ch post cited above may have been a source, if not the origin, of the bogus information.

Info on the picture book from here (http://saslibrarian.livejournal.com/5750.html):

Hooray for fish by Lucy Cousins
Fish, fish, and more fish! Little fish meets his many friends - fish of all kinds. Some are small, some are big. Some are curly and some count. All kinds of amazing fish. But little fish is looking for on special fish. The illustrations are bright and colorful making it very eye catching for little children. The rhyming and rhythm helps the pace of the story to keep going. This book reminds me a lot of Dr. Seuss's book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

Oh, I guess I parsed it wrong.

But yeah, apparently it is.

Actually, that reminds me: NeoSam (and everyone else who posts here), do you think you could link to wherever you get the announcements from? Generally I see it on SaiAni or Moon Phase anyway, but on those rare occasions when it comes from somewhere else I'd like to be able to say more than just "This dude on AnimeSuki says XYZ is getting an anime!"

Not that I'm complaining, mind, since you clearly put a lot of effort into this already ^_^;

Gainax seems to be doing some kind of spinoff of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, titled Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Shisengen Shikou. There aren't many details yet; not even sure if it'll be an OVA, TV series, or what.

From the look of the page (http://www.gainax.co.jp/anime/gurren-lagann/rifling.html) Gainax has set up I'm guessing it's either a farther-in-the-future sequel or else a far-in-the-past prequel...there's a lot of text available but I don't have time to translate it at the moment. All I can tell for sure is that it's in the same universe as Gurren Lagann (natch).

Damn it

I was wondering why the MM! anime wasn't mentioned on MoonPhase yet, so I did a little research:

http://kom824.blog113.fc2.com/blog-entry-317.html

It does not say on the obi strip on the 3rd volume cover: アニメ化 but it says: アニメ化 したい!

アニメ化 = anime-ka = anime adaptation (anime conversion)

アニメ化 したい! = anime-ka shitai! = I want to do an anime adaptation!

(したい = shitai = want to do)

Yeah, this is no more than wishful thinking :P

And from a small picture of the cover, the only thing thats viewable is the アニメ化 (anime-ka): (the source image of the false news)

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6021/84012057iz9.jpg

Its only the アニメ化 (anime-ka) is what can be seen from that small image, and what lead to this false report about an anime adaptation.

For now there's no actual anime adaptation of MM! light novel series.

There's a possibility of a different MF Bunko J light novel series getting animated, lets just wait and see :)

Edit:

Anyway, sorry for the false report >.<
